The Urmston Hotel or just The Urmston as it's really known is the third Quiz Night in my week (that's if I don't do one for someone else on a Wednesday) and can be found would you believe in Urmston but Stretford side of the M60. It is run by a really nice and friendly couple, Brian and Vicky. They are a fantastic husband and wife team who have a hands on approach in running a proper Manchester boozer. Its a proper local community pub in the every sense of the word. Not pretentious in any way and "it does what it says on the tin".

It has it's own pub kitchen which is very busy both through the week and at weekends, manned by Jose, the "Paella Fella". This guy is a legend, he's an unbelievably good Spanish chef who has his own out-side catering business specialising is Spanish food from the pub, offering genuine traditional Spanish food cooked the way it should be cooked to the good people of Greater Manchester. To say that he's a larger than life character is an understatement, Jose is a big guy with a big heart and an even bigger love of his food. I haven't been at the Urmston for that long up to now, but I'm slowly building a little following getting about eight teams doing the quiz each week, but as with all quizzes it does fluctuate depending on holidays and away football matches. The teams that turn up range in age from 18 year olds (with their parents) right up to the over 60's, all doing my very own green, eco-friendly, recyclable, low carbon footprint general knowledge and music quiz. As well as the quiz I also host the big board game "Play Your Cards Right" with a big money jackpot each week. I always tie this in with the envelope game where you can win £1, £5, or £10. giving the chance for somebody to win at least some money each week.

1st Prize on the quiz - 8 tokens worth either a pint of beer or a glass of wine each

2nd Prize on the quiz - 4 tokens worth either a pint of beer or a glass of wine each

3rd Prize on the quiz - one of Jose's very own Paella

Runners-up Prize - Vimto Lollies all round for the loosing team
